HONEY CHILLI POTATOES

Honey chilli potatoes is one snacks that kids and adults equally relish. The sweetness of honey and the spiciness that the sauces and red chillies add to it makes it finger licking good. Both my daughters are very fond of Honey Chilli Potatoes and prefer it more than regular French fries. When the kids love it, what better way to prepare it at home and let them enjoy.
It does not take much time to prepare them, you can easily pre soak the potatoes and keep them in fridge and whenever you want your Honey Chilli Potatoes are ready instantly.

INGREDIENTS

Potatoes   3 - 4 (preferably long ones)
Red Chilli Powder  1 tea spoon
Salt to taste
Corn flour  1/2 cup

For the sauce

Oil  1 table spoon
Dry red chillies 2-3 (optional)
Sesame seeds (til) 1 table spoon
Garlic (minced)  1 table spoon
Spring Onions 2-3 chopped along with the greens ( I didn't have them so haven't used )
Red chilli sauce / red chilli powder 1 tea spoon
Soya sauce  1 table spoon
Vinegar  2 table spoons
Salt to taste

METHOD

1. Wash & cut potatoes length wise. Dip them in cold water & keep aside for about an hour. You can even do this the previous day & keep them dipped in water overnight in the fridge.
2. Take the potatoes out of water & put them on a kitchen towel or pat dry them completely.
3. Take a bowl add salt, red chilli powder & corn flour to it. Coat the potatoes nicely in this mixture & deep fry them. Keep aside.
4. To make the sauce, add oil in a pan, add garlic saute lightly ,add spring onions, add red chilli sauce, soya sauce, vinegar, salt, sesame seeds. Switch off the gas, add honey & mix.

I missed taking pictures of this step, will try to add them when I make them next. I did not deep fry them twice but you surely can do it to add to the extra crunch.

HAPPY COOKING !! :)))
